The Knight has a 5-inch, pin-sharp full HD display with great viewing angles and vibrant colours. The glossy rear panel attracts a lot of fingerprints, but a frosted plastic case is included in the box. Overall, we liked the way the phone fits in the hand.
This is the first phone to use Mediatek's 2Ghz true octa core processor (others are 1.7Ghz): with all eight processor cores working simultaneously. Combined with 2GB RAM, the phone delivers fantastic performance and handles everything from hardware intensive games to full HD videos with ease. In AnTuTu Benchmark, the Canvas Knight scored better than the Samsung Galaxy S4 with a score of 30,682.
The only issue was that it starts to heat up after about 20 minutes of gaming. While the phone comes with 32GB storage and supports USB host, a microSD slot would have still been preferred instead of the second SIM card slot.
Another highlight of the Knight is the 16MP camera. While the camera takes great pictures in daylight as well as low light, we noticed that the software automatically softens the image. Hopefully, Micromax will fix it with a software update.
As for the front 8MP wide-angle camera, it took good 'selfies', but the fixed focus felt limiting.
As expected, the battery lasted from morning till night with mixed usage. Overall, the Knight has a stunning unibody design, a gorgeous display, top notch performance and a fantastic camera at a great price. If you want a device with a true octa core processor and larger display in the same price, consider the Intex Aqua Octa.
